Punggol: Future Waterfront Town

Green Living by the Waters

In 2007, the idea of developing Punggol into a watertown was featured. This magnificent project which will cost the government S$225 million aims to introduce a new waterway that will traverse through the town of Punggol, transforming it into a waterfront living environment with new flats, condominiums, parks and water sport activities. This great idea evolved originally from plans to dam up Sungei Serangoon & Sungei Punggol to form water reservoirs.

“Green Living by the Waters” is the theme the planning concept of the waterway will adhere to. The area’s rich coastal heritage and design contemporary are used to inspire the design of the waterway and the communal spaces along the promenade. There will be more facilities for water-based recreational activities and sports, just next to the heartlands in Punggol.
