Punggol: 14 Waterfront Projects

On Wednesday, the Housing Development Board disclosed that it has won a prestigious achievement award for the Punggol Waterway Project. This award is the Global Superior Achievement Award which is the highest honour awarded by the IWA – International Water Association. This is the first time such an award has been clinched by an Asian nation. Established in 2006, the IWA Project Innovation Award was given to recognize excellence and innovation in water engineering projects globally.Besides receiving this prestigious award, Punggol Waterway also won the Global Grand Winner in the planning category. There were a total of thirteen prizes given out in six categories. 14 waterfront projects are now under construction in Punggol.
At 4.2km long, the Punggol Waterway is Singapore’s longest man-made waterway. Along this waterway are features such as a landscaped promenade, five footbridges, as well as cycling and jogging paths. It is a pipeline to connect two reservoirs and also a recreational green space for the local Punggol community.14 land mass bids have thus far been awarded to developers for the construction of executive condominium (EC) and private condominiums. All these condominiums follow the waterfront living theme.The 14 developments are namely:
